Kamaniskeg Lake is part of the Ottawa River drainage basin, fed and drained by the Madawaska River. The steady flow through the lake helps keep water quality among the best in the region.
It's a genuinely large lake for the area — 13 km long and 6 km wide — with a mix of forested shoreline, rock outcrops, and sand beaches. Barry's Bay sits at the north end and Combermere near the southeast, giving cottagers full-service towns at both ends of the lake.
