Baptiste Lake sits in Hastings Highlands, roughly 10 km from downtown Bancroft and about 16 km from the edge of Algonquin Provincial Park. It's one of the most recognized bass lakes in the region, with a fishing history dating back to the early 1960s.
Baptiste connects to Elephant Lake and Benoir Lake through a lock-free boating system, giving cottagers and anglers roughly 50 km of navigable waterway to explore without ever trailering the boat.

Baptiste has produced largemouth bass entries over 8 lbs in provincial big-fish contests, and 5–6 lb smallmouth are caught most seasons. It's a serious destination for bass anglers, not just a casual fishing lake.
