About Limerick Lake
Limerick Lake is part of a chain of five connected waterways, giving boaters miles of water to explore beyond the main lake basin. It sits about 25 km south of Bancroft, near the community of St. Ola.
The lake was enlarged in 1934 when the St. Ola Dam raised water levels, and it's managed today under the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority.
Fishing
Limerick is regularly mentioned alongside Paudash, Baptiste, and Elephant Lake as one of the Bancroft area's standout bass lakes, with lake trout, yellow perch, and pumpkinseed also in the mix. Lake trout fish best in the two weeks after ice-out; bass fishing tends to peak a few weeks after the late-June opener.
